Frequently asked questions
What is the contribution rate for a French auto-entrepreneur in construction?
Construction tradespeople fall under skilled-trade services (the French BIC category). The contribution rate applies to turnover actually received; it changes every year, which is why it is editable in the tool. With no deductible expenses, contributions are worked out straight from turnover.
What is the French flat-rate income tax option?
If they opt in, and subject to an income condition, a French auto-entrepreneur can pay income tax at the same time as their contributions, as a percentage of turnover. Otherwise, tax is worked out on the progressive scale after a flat-rate allowance.
What is the turnover ceiling for the French micro-business scheme?
For a services business, an annual turnover ceiling applies to stay in the French micro-business scheme. Above it, or after exceeding it two years running, the standard scheme applies. Check the ceiling currently in force.
